Our Services

Design Checking

We check information from the engineer in addition to the architect and other design team members to ensure compatibility and avoid conflicts of dimension or specification.

Project Management

If required, we can take a trade-by-trade approach for a client. Typically, the client employs the tradesmen directly and we provide control to keep the project on track. This is a non-standard approach, but it can allow some projects that are close to their cost constraint, to proceed where they otherwise wouldn’t.

We remain independent of all the tradesmen providing protection to the client and checking time, cost, and quality of all work undertaken on site.

Contract Administration

Whilst contract administration has traditionally been undertaken by architects, CLPM can offer a cost effective alternative with particular delivery skills that enable architects to outsource contract administration with confidence. We can handle all the delivery aspects of a project including control of the builder and client liaison, to make sure that quality and cost are maintained for the duration of the on site phase of the project.

Sustainability

With a separate Eco department we are able to offer well informed, unbiased, site specific advice on all aspects of sustainability on traditional or modern building systems including energy management and renewables.

We like to profile the project at the earliest possible stage to ensure that the client’s desires for sustainability are built into to both the plans and the budget and can then be communicated to all members of the team.

We can help explore the client’s brief in this area, check that the site is suitable for the desired technology, find the best suppliers of the proposed technology and then knowledgeably oversee its installation on site, including checking the commissioning.

Complementary Services

Budgeting

Our surveyors put budgets together for early stage proposals and then refine them as the design develops, working with you and the client to assess cost, time and feasibility issues. This means the question ‘how much is this going to cost?’ is answered by us, so the risk of getting it wrong is also borne by us.

Tender Organisation

We agree tender lists between all parties, send out the tender packs, analyse the tender returns and make recommendations as to who to appoint.

Cost Control

We check contractors’ certificates, track and agree variations and report to all parties on ongoing cost and progress.
