CLPM was founded in 2004 in response to Charlie Laing’s frustration in refurbishing a house. It became apparent that clients rely heavily on an architect or a builder to progress their projects. But the architect's strengths often lie in design, whilst all too often the builder's interests lie in completing the job to their own timescales rather than to the client’s satisfaction.

CLPM is NOT a building company. We represent the client and work for the client to ensure that the project is built to meet the requirements, is built well and is built efficiently. We look to find the right people to carry out the work for the client and then fight the client’s corner to ensure they get the job they want.

Charlie Laing worked for 10 years with an international building company on projects as large as $150million. The approach on these projects is to have a designated Project Manager, tasked to achieve the project to the satisfaction of the client. It is this approach that we now bring to our clients regardless of the size of their project.

We now have a team of dedicated staff from a range of backgrounds such ex-tradesmen or surveying, which enables us to offer services such as realistic on-site advice or integrated procurement and construction programmes.
